As part of ABP’s journey towards responsible production, ABP are committed to adopting sustainable practices. ABP recognise the steps which need to be taken to improve the garment production industry and strive to be leaders in making these changes. ABP’s ethos revolves around smaller production runs, high-quality construction techniques and efficient use and reuse of materials, offering a more sustainable alternative to the fast-fashion model.

As part of our commitment to sustainability, ABP are continuously finding ways to reduce fabric waste during production. Through careful lay planning techniques, ABP ensure the most efficient use of materials whilst still adhering to intricate embroidery placements. ABP recently collaborated with Bordelle to devise a zerowaste lay plan for the mesh pouches offered as part of their Luxury Gift Wrap option, completely eliminating fabric waste from this production.

ABP are committed to reusing materials throughout the Warehouse and Atelier including hangers, cardboard boxes, and other packing materials. Products stored at the ABP warehouse are no longer packaged individually into polybags to minimise plastic waste. As part of ABP's recycling initiatives, paper, plastic and LDPE plastic waste is carefully sorted and collected for recycling.

ABP are always taking steps to reduce our energy consumption throughout the Atelier and Warehouse by choosing LED lighting elements and investing in new machines with higher energy efficiency.

ABP operate an efficient packing system and combine shipments to minimise transportation. In 2022, the opening of the ABP warehouse significantly reduced the distance travelled by pieces between production, the warehouse, and the customer, therefore reducing the carbon footprint.

ABP embrace a slow-fashion philosophy, adopting an Atelier mindset that favours smaller, high-quality production runs. By prioritising a skilled workforce and intricate construction techniques over mass production, the Atelier offers an alternative to the fast fashion model and avoids large volumes of unsold product waste entering landfill.

ABP recognise the importance of high-quality construction processes and quality of materials in extending the lifespan of a garment. Our highly skilled team value quality over quantity, emphasising the longevity and durability of every piece produced. Materials and components undergo thorough quality checks on arrival to the Atelier before they enter the sewing room and each final garment is meticulously quality-checked before it departs.
